"The Bird"

This was a VERY protective killdeer that had made a nest on the ground right behind the parked Subarus. She was not happy with all the activity, noise, and dust we produced and squawked the whole time. Her nest was filled with 4 small white eggs with blue dots. She would repeatedly squawk loudly, fake a broken wing, and walk away from the nest, apparently to divert attention from it. Then she'd fly away and come back a few minutes later. 6/13/00
